Come and Learn Irish in Manchester
Classes for all levels from complete beginners and upwards.
When will the next class start? September 2024
You can enrol for classes on Tuesday 3rd September between 8pm and 9:30pm .
When: All sessions run weekly on Tuesday evenings following a school year pattern of six-week half terms starting on 10 September. How long: Classes will run for 3 terms each consisting of 12 weeks. Where: St. Kentigern's Parish Hall, 36 Wilbraham Road, Fallowfield, M14 7DW How much: They are grant-funded from the Government of Ireland Emigrant Support Programme and are free of charge but students may need to purchase a text book. How to get there: There is good public transport links and free parking is available (Access to car park is via Hart Road).
Everyone is welcome, you can usually find us in the main function room, but if you are not sure just ask the bar staff.
What levels are available?
7 until 8 pm:
• Intermediate Reading Group • Post-beginners Class
8 until 9 pm:
• Absolute beginners Class : for those with no previous experience of Irish • Beginners Class : if you have learned some irish before but have not touched it for years • Post-beginners Class. • Intermediate Class. • Conversation group.
Classes are taught in small groups with friendly teachers with a focus on speaking. Sometimes you get a wee bit of homework but it is to help reinforce the lesson and provide practice.
