Poetry Evening: Guest poet Aifric Mac Aodha

Poetry Evening the 2016 Oireachtas Prize for Poetry Award winner Aifric Mac Aodha will read a selection of her work before presenting the 2019 Manchester Irish Language Writing Prize with awards for poetry and for prose. Tickets for this bi-lingual event are £5 each. The cost includes light refreshments..

Tickets cost £5 and can be purchased on the night.


Litríocht: 2019 Writing Prize Results

The results of the 2019 Manchester Irish Language Writing Prize will be announced after the poetry reading event.

This year again there will be two categories, poetry and Short story and entries are open to all. The judging panel will consist of MILG members along with this years guest head judge, poet Aifric Mac Aodha, winner of the 2016 Oireachtas Prize for Poetry. Aifric will travel from Dublin to read a selection of her work on 25 October and then announce the winners of the 2019 Manchester Irish Language Writing Competition, the theme of which is Escape.
